About the Cyclonic Post Supports
VUETRADE Cyclonic Post Supports are 6.0mm U-shaped anchors cast into concrete footings, for timber posts in cyclonic and high wind areas, designed for 12mm bolts (14mm M12 holes) as required in Queensland. VUETRADE states they conform with AS 1684.2 and AS 1684.3. Hot dip galvanised stirrups 75 to 150mm wide and 300, 450 or 600mm high, with selected sizes in 304 stainless and BLACKOUT, cartons of 6.

Features
- 6.0mm steel U stirrup, cast into concrete
- Designed for 12mm bolts, 14mm (M12) holes
- AS 1684.2 and AS 1684.3 (VUETRADE)
- Stirrup widths 75 to 150mm, total heights 300, 450 and 600mm
- VUETRADE uplift design capacity: 41 kN (JD4) with 2 x M12 bolts or VUEBOLTs through the saddle tightly fastened with nuts, and a post at least 90 x 90mm sitting flat on the base
- Capacities are VUETRADE's wind uplift (vertical) design capacities from its own tests, and assume enough concrete anchorage; embedment depth is set by your structural engineer; reinforcing rod to AS 1684.3 Table 9.20(j) (VUETRADE)
- BLACKOUT is black powder coat over hot dip galvanised steel: same exposure limits as galvanised (VUETRADE)
- Leave at least 75mm clearance under the post for termite inspection: VUETRADE says it must be provided (AS 3660.1)
- Exposure (VUETRADE area chart): galvanised for enclosed work and for inland exterior work kept clear of fresh water and frequent wetting and drying; 304 stainless for marine sites (100m to 1km from a sheltered coast, 1 to 10km from surf) and for fresh-water contact or frequent wetting and drying; within 100m of a sheltered coast or 1km of breaking surf VUETRADE specifies 316, by special order. Around pools VUETRADE recommends stainless brackets for saltwater pools, and for freshwater pools where the brackets are splashed often

- Decks, pergolas and roofed structures: to VUETRADE's technical data (uplift, and dead load where listed, with its fixing conditions) or your engineer's design. VUETRADE: post supports give no lateral stability, so brace the posts to a structural engineer's design; footing embedment and concrete anchor bolts are set by your engineer
