About the Finned Blade Stirrups
VUETRADE Finned Blade Stirrups are set straight into concrete footings or slabs and give a concealed finish. 400 x 50mm (6.0mm), 600 x 65mm (8.0mm) and 600 x 75mm (10.0mm), for M12 bolts, galvanised mild steel.
Features
- Cast into concrete footings or slabs
- 400 x 50mm 6.0mm, 600 x 65mm 8.0mm, 600 x 75mm 10.0mm (G250 steel, hot dip galvanised)
- Cut a slot to suit the blade thickness, at least 190mm deep, in the middle of the post
- Rated fixing (VUETRADE): 2 x M12 bolts or VUEBOLTs with nuts and washers on both sides (AS 1720.1 Table 4.11 washer size)
- VUETRADE uplift design capacity: JD3 15.8, JD4 12.7, JD5 11.0 kN, with that fixing and a post at least 90 x 90mm
- Capacities are VUETRADE's wind uplift (vertical) design capacities from its own tests, and assume enough concrete anchorage; embedment depth is set by your structural engineer
- Leave at least 75mm clearance under the post for termite inspection: VUETRADE says it must be provided (AS 3660.1)
- Exposure (VUETRADE area chart): galvanised suits enclosed work and inland exterior work kept clear of fresh water, frequent wetting and drying and pool splash. This product is galvanised only, so it does not suit marine sites (within 1km of a sheltered coast or 10km of surf) or those wet locations
Applications
- Concealed post bases cast into concrete
- Decks, pergolas and roofed structures: to VUETRADE's technical data (uplift, and dead load where listed, with its fixing conditions) or your engineer's design. VUETRADE: post supports give no lateral stability, so brace the posts to a structural engineer's design; footing embedment and concrete anchor bolts are set by your engineer
