About the Heavy Duty Plates (M10)
VUETRADE Heavy Duty Plates join timbers between flat timber faces. 3.0mm steel for M10 bolts (VUETRADE also permits coach screws of an equivalent size): galvanised mild steel in 12 sizes from 120 x 40mm to 200 x 160mm, and 316 stainless in 200 x 40, 80 and 120mm. Use stainless fasteners with stainless plates.

Features
- 3.0mm steel, M10 bolt holes; coach screws of an equivalent size are permitted (VUETRADE)
- Galvanised: mild steel to AS 1379, minimum 300MPa yield, Z275 coating
- Galvanised 120, 160 and 200mm long by 40 to 160mm wide
- 316 stainless 200 x 40, 80 and 120mm
- Exposure (VUETRADE area chart): galvanised for enclosed work and inland exterior work kept clear of fresh water, frequent wetting and drying and pool splash; on marine sites (within 1km of a sheltered coast or 10km of surf), in fresh-water contact or frequent wetting and drying, or around pools, use the 316 stainless version
- Use stainless fasteners with stainless plates to prevent bimetallic corrosion (VUETRADE)
- VUETRADE publishes no design capacity for this plate: capacities depend on the use, timber grade and load direction, so structural use needs an engineer's design to AS 1720.1, with bolt edge and end distances to AS 1720.1 (VUETRADE technical data)
