About the I-Beam Variable Skew Angles (HDG)
The VUETRADE I-Beam Variable Skew Angle is a universal connector for timber truss connections where beams or trusses come in at an angle to the beam or girder truss. It can also be used vertically as a heavy duty right angle. 5.0mm hot dip galvanised steel with 6.0mm straight-cut holes for VUETRADE Type 17 12G x 35mm screws, 150 or 300mm long (50 x 75mm section).

- 6.0mm straight-cut holes for VUETRADE Type 17 12G x 35mm screws
- 150 x 50 x 75mm and 300 x 50 x 75mm
- Skew support (VUETRADE method 1): screws through every hole of the long face into the supporting beam (6 on the 150, 12 on the 300) plus 1 screw from below into the supported beam. Design capacity JD3 to JD5: dead load 9.5 to 4.8 kN (150) and 19.1 to 9.6 kN (300); dead plus wind load only 1.8 to 1.1 kN on either size
- Vertical right angle (VUETRADE method 2, at least 6 screws per beam on the 150, 12 on the 300): dead load JD3 to JD5 6.7 to 3.4 kN (150) and 12.6 to 6.3 kN (300); a pair may double this, never over 40 kN in any direction
- Capacities are for Category 1 joints; pre-drill hardwood; follow the installation instructions or your project engineer (VUETRADE)
- Exposure (VUETRADE area chart): galvanised suits enclosed work and inland exterior work kept clear of fresh water, frequent wetting and drying and pool splash. This product is galvanised only, so it does not suit marine sites (within 1km of a sheltered coast or 10km of surf) or those wet locations
