VUETRADE Heavy Duty U-Cup Bolt Down Post Supports are 4.0mm galvanised U cups for bolting timber posts down, designed for deep timber placement, in seven sizes for 75 to 150mm square posts. VUETRADE lists them for existing timber decking or concrete bases, but rates the base fixing only with 2 x M12 concrete bolts: fixing to a timber deck needs your engineer's design. Cartons of 10.

- Deep U cup for deep timber placement
- 4.0mm steel, hot dip galvanised
- Post sizes 75 to 150mm square
- Rated fixing (VUETRADE): 2 x M12 bolts or VUEBOLTs through the cup tightly fastened with nuts; 2 x M12 concrete bolts in the base; galvanised bolts only
- VUETRADE uplift design capacity: J3 15.0, J4 13.4, J5 11.6, JD3 15.0, JD4 15.0, JD5 14.7 kN, with that fixing and a post at least 90 x 90mm sitting flat in the cup; footings by others
- Capacities are VUETRADE's wind uplift (vertical) design capacities and assume enough anchorage in the concrete

- Exposure (VUETRADE area chart): galvanised suits enclosed work and inland exterior work kept clear of fresh water, frequent wetting and drying and pool splash. This product is galvanised only, so it does not suit marine sites (within 1km of a sheltered coast or 10km of surf) or those wet locations

- Bolting timber posts to concrete bases
- Existing timber decking: VUETRADE publishes no fixing or capacity for a timber deck base, so fix to your engineer's design
- Decks, pergolas and roofed structures: to VUETRADE's technical data (uplift, and dead load where listed, with its fixing conditions) or your engineer's design. VUETRADE: post supports give no lateral stability, so brace the posts to a structural engineer's design; footing embedment and concrete anchor bolts are set by your engineer
