Yes, you can buy your Hume Evolution cavity slider and the door to suit directly from Allmat, and have the jambs, skirting, architraves and hardware on the same order.

The most common spot is an ensuite door, where a swinging door would clash with the vanity or toilet. They are also a favourite for walk-in robes, laundries and powder rooms. It is a system builders reach for often.

A flush pull door sits proud about 50mm so you grab the edge to slide it. A flush jamb door finishes flush with the split jamb for a handle-free look; it comes on the standard unit, or as the Complete, which adds the One Touch Release System and Soft Closer so the flush door pops out at a push. Either finish comes in a timber or steel (Aspire) frame.

The cavity frame is built into the wall during construction or renovation, since it needs the hollow pocket beside the opening. Match the stud thickness (64 to 100mm) to your wall. For an existing solid wall a face-fixed slider running on the wall can be an alternative.

The cavity units suit 35mm doors up to 70kg. All of our Hume internal doors are 35mm, so any of them can be the sliding leaf.

In SA the framing opening height is the door height plus 80mm. The width is twice the door width plus 10mm for a flush pull, or plus 60mm for a flush jamb, which covers the pocket beside the doorway. The configurator on this page works it out for your exact door.

Yes. A double, or biparting, cavity slider is two mirrored doors that slide into opposite walls and meet in the middle. Hume builds each double as a custom unit on a single continuous track, so they are quoted per job: choose Double in the configurator above and send the enquiry, and we will come back with a firm price.

Yes. Pocket door is the international name for the same thing: a door that slides into a pocket in the wall. In Australia the trade calls them cavity sliders or cavity sliding doors, and the pocket itself is the cavity unit. Everything on this page applies whichever name you use. Cavity doors use flush-fitting hardware so the door can slide fully into the pocket: a flush pull recessed into the door face, an edge pull on the leading edge, and lockable flush privacy sets for bathrooms. On a Flush Jamb Complete unit the one-touch release takes the place of an edge pull. We supply cavity-specific door hardware with the door, so just ask when ordering.

Any of our Hume internal doors can be the sliding leaf, so you can match the slider to the other doors in the house. Flush, panel, glazed and timber-veneer doors all work, and a staingrade upgrade is available if you want to stain it.
