Tiling Direct to Cavity Unit Installation Instructions
The official Hume Doors instructions for installing an Evolution cavity unit in a wall that will be sheeted and tiled, such as an ensuite or bathroom. Key things to remember
The essentials from this guide, at a glance.
- Use minimum 6mm fibre cement sheeting (Type A or B, Category 3 to AS/NZS 2908.2); approved linings include Hume Cemboard (Prima), James Hardie Villaboard and CSR CeminSeal.
- In a tiled area the track must be fixed through every pre-punched hole.
- Fix the back post to the stud with at least 5 evenly spaced screws or nails, and fix through the bottom plate.
- Make sure the cavity unit is plumb and level before sheeting and tiling the wall.
