About the P Clamps (Cushion Clamps)
P clamps, or lined cushion clamps, wrap around pipe, hose, cable or conduit and fix through the tab to a wall, chassis or frame, holding it without chafing, in vehicles, machinery, electrical and plumbing work. They come zinc plated with a vinyl or rubber lining, or in 304 stainless with a rubber lining, sized from 3.2 to 110mm with 6.3, 10 and 12.7mm mounting holes. What P clamps are for
A P clamp is a metal band bent into a P shape with a protective lining. It wraps around a pipe, hose, cable bundle or conduit and fixes through the tab to the wall, chassis or frame, holding it in place without chafing. They are used in vehicles and machinery, electrical and plumbing services.
P clamp sizes
P clamps are sized by the diameter of what they hold: choose the size that matches the outside diameter of the pipe, hose or bundle. Then pick the band and hole to suit the fixing.
Rubber or vinyl lining, zinc or stainless?
- Rubber lined: grips and absorbs vibration, so the clamp does not work loose. The choice for vehicles and machinery.
- Vinyl (PVC) lined: protects cables, wires and pipe from chafing in general fixing.
- Zinc plated band: general and indoor use.
- 304 stainless band: wet, outdoor and corrosive areas.
