Hose Clamps
Stainless hose clamps: high-torque worm drive, heavy duty T-bolt and multi mini clamps, sized by the hose diameter range.
About the Hose Clamps
Stainless hose clamps clamp a hose tight onto its fitting, on vehicles, machinery, farm gear, plumbing, gas and marine lines. High torque worm drive clamps (304 band to SAE J1508) cover 13 to 178mm, multi mini clamps with a narrow 9mm band suit small hoses from 8 to 23mm, and heavy duty T-bolt clamps give an even, tight seal on industrial hose from 17 to 130mm. Choose the type and diameter range above; the guide below covers measuring the hose and fitting.
Also called hose clips, worm drive clamps, worm clamps or Jubilee-style clips.
Applications
- Vehicle and machinery hoses
- Farm and agricultural hose lines (T-bolt)
- Small hoses in HVAC, gas, marine and water plumbing (multi mini)
- Industrial hose to fitting seals
What size hose clamp do I need?
Hose clamps are sized by the diameter range they close over. Fit the hose onto its fitting, measure the outside diameter of the hose there, and choose a clamp whose range covers that measurement, ideally with the size near the middle of the range so there is adjustment either way.
Every worm drive clamp has its clamping range stamped on the band, so you can check a clamp on the shelf or in the van.
Worm drive, multi mini or T-bolt?
- High torque worm drive: a perforated 304 stainless band to SAE J1508 with a two-piece lock housing for high tightening torque. Each clamp covers a wide range. Choose all-stainless, or stainless with a zinc plated screw.
- Multi mini: a narrow 9mm band for small hoses where a full size clamp will not fit, used in machinery, automotive, HVAC, gas, marine and water plumbing. The flexible perforated band and slotted 304 screw make it easy to fit. Also called micro or M clamps.
- Heavy duty T-bolt: a solid 304 stainless band pulled up by a T-bolt for an even, tight seal between an industrial hose and its fitting so fluid cannot escape. Each size covers a narrow range, so measure carefully. Common in automotive and agriculture.
Our stainless hose clamp range. Tap a number to show it in the selector above.
| Type | Band width | Diameter range | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| High torque worm drive | 12.7mm | 13 to 178mm | General hose clamping, wide adjustment |
| Multi mini worm drive | 9mm | 8 to 23mm | Small hoses and tight spaces |
| Heavy duty T-bolt | 19, 22 and 25mm | 17 to 130mm | Industrial, automotive and farm hose under pressure |
Fitting a hose clamp
- Slide the clamp onto the hose before pushing the hose onto the fitting.
- Push the hose fully onto the fitting, then position the clamp over the fitting, just in from the end of the hose and behind any barb or bead.
- Tighten the screw or T-bolt until the hose is firmly sealed. Do not overtighten: it can cut into a soft hose or strip the band.
- Check again after the system has run and warmed up, and retighten if needed.

Questions
How do I measure for a hose clamp?
Measure the outside diameter of the hose when it is fitted on the fitting, then choose a clamp whose diameter range covers it, ideally near the middle of the range.
What is the difference between a worm drive and a T-bolt hose clamp?
A worm drive clamp tightens a perforated band with a screw and covers a wide range of sizes. A T-bolt clamp uses a solid band and a bolt for a stronger, more even seal on industrial and pressurised hose, but each size covers a narrow range.
Is a Jubilee clip the same as a hose clamp?
Yes. Jubilee is a brand, but Jubilee clip (or Jubilee clamp) has become a common name for any worm drive hose clamp. Ours are Jubilee-style worm drive clamps, not the Jubilee brand.
Are these hose clamps stainless steel?
Yes, the bands are 304 stainless steel. The high torque worm drive clamps come all-stainless or with a zinc plated screw. Choose all-stainless for wet, marine and outdoor use.
What is SAE J1508?
SAE J1508 is the SAE standard for hose clamp specifications. Our high torque and multi mini worm drive clamps are made to it.
