About the VUEBRACE Unpunched Builder's Strapping
VUEBRACE unpunched builder's strapping is galvanised G300 Z275 strap without pre-punched holes, for general non-structural bracing and strapping and exposed work where a plain strap looks better. VUETRADE lists it for carport and pergola construction and general tie-down applications as specified in AS 1684.2 and AS 1684.3, and says it is not suitable for structural bracing: use VUEBRACE punched strap for that. Maximum tension under VUETRADE's test conditions: 8.8 kN (30 x 0.8mm) and 12.8 kN (30 x 1.2mm). 30mm wide (0.8 or 1.2mm) and 32mm wide (1.2mm, special order at VUETRADE) in 30 and 50m rolls. - Fix with VUETRADE 30 x 2.8mm galvanised connector plate nails, evenly spaced and clear of the strap edges so the strap cannot tear (VUETRADE)
- AS 1684 compliance stated for non-bracing applications only (VUETRADE)
- Exposure (VUETRADE area chart): galvanised suits enclosed work and inland exterior work kept clear of fresh water, frequent wetting and drying and pool splash. This product is galvanised only, so it does not suit marine sites (within 1km of a sheltered coast or 10km of surf) or those wet locations
