About the VUEBRACE Punched Builder's Strapping 30mm
VUEBRACE punched builder's strapping is a 30mm tension bracing strap for walls, roofs, ceilings and floors, tensioned with the VUESMART brace tensioner. VUETRADE's compliance statement covers the 30mm galvanised coils (VB3086, VB30815, VB30830, VB3016, VB30115, VB30130, VB30150, VB301230, VB301250) for wall bracing to AS 1684.2, AS 1684.3 and AS 1684.4; VUETRADE states the 316 stainless strap is engineered to comply with AS 1684.2-2021 and AS 1684.3-2021 for structural wall bracing. Coils from 6 to 50m, and pre-cut strips in packs of 500. Australian made.

Features
- Wall bracing capacity (VUETRADE technical data): 1.5 kN/m as tensioned metal straps to AS 1684.2/.3 Table 8.18(b), Fixing Detail A; or 3.0 kN/m with stud straps to Table 8.18(d), Fixing Detail B, using the 30 x 1.0mm or 1.2mm strap (VUETRADE technical data and compliance statement); the 0.8mm strap for Table 8.18(b) only. Wall panels 1.8 to 2.7m long, braces at 30 to 60 degrees; walls over 2.7m high take VUETRADE's height multiplier (0.90 at 3.0m down to 0.64 at 4.2m)
- Strap tension capacity (VUETRADE technical data, under test conditions, not a bracing rating): galvanised 30 x 0.8mm 6.3 kN, 30 x 1.0mm 8.6 kN, 30 x 1.2mm 11.2 kN; 316 stainless 30 x 0.8mm 9.4 kN, 30 x 1.0mm 11.7 kN
- Install (VUEBRACE guide): Fixing Detail A, 3 x 30 x 2.8mm connector plate nails into the top plate and 3 into the bottom plate; Fixing Detail B, the strap wrapped over with 4 nails into each plate, plus a stud tie or 30 x 0.8mm flat strap at the end studs. Braces in an X, tensioned with VUESMART (do not overtighten), 1 nail at every stud crossed
- Galvanised nails on galvanised strap, stainless nails on stainless strap: mixing them causes bimetallic corrosion that reduces the capacity (VUETRADE)
- Coils 6, 15, 30 and 50m; strips 3.15, 3.6 and 4.2m in packs of 500
- Galvanised G300 steel, Z275 coating (VUETRADE compliance statement)
- Exposure (VUETRADE area chart): galvanised for enclosed work and inland exterior work kept clear of fresh water, frequent wetting and drying and pool splash; on marine sites (within 1km of a sheltered coast or 10km of surf), in fresh-water contact or frequent wetting and drying, or around pools, use the 316 stainless version
