About Hydrated Lime 10kg
Hydrated lime is quicklime with water added under controlled conditions. Blended into sand and cement mortar or render, it improves workability and bond strength and helps the mix hold its water. It conforms to AS 1672.1 Limes for Building.
It is also sold as builders lime. The 10kg bag suits small jobs and tight access.

How to use
- Measure the lime, cement and sand in the right proportions onto a non-porous surface or into a tub. Big jobs need a mortar mixer.
- Add drinkable water gradually and mix well, using just enough to make it workable.
- Apply with a trowel, and use the batch while it is fresh. Topping up a batch that has stood with more water weakens it.

Storage & safety
Keeps about 6 months from manufacture, sealed, dry and off the ground.
- Hydrated lime is strongly alkaline: keep it off skin, eyes and lips, and wear dust-proof goggles and PVC or rubber gloves.

Hydrated Lime questions

It makes mortar and render more workable, helps the mix hold its water and improves bond strength.
