Key things to remember
The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.
- Ten parts, two grip ranges each in M4, M5, M6, M8 and M10 (NR16PFKOM04110 to NR16PFKOM10240), 316 stainless steel.
- Hole size and grip examples: M6 needs a 9.0mm hole, with grips of 0.5mm to 3.0mm (NR16PFKOM06160) or 3.0mm to 5.0mm (NR16PFKOM06185).
- Working pullout load in stainless steel plate: 1,500N for M4 in 1.5mm plate, 2,650N for M6 in 1.5mm, 5,500N for M8 in 3.0mm and 7,800N for M10 x 24 in 4.5mm. Working loads include a factor of safety of 2.5 for steel; mean and characteristic loads are also listed. All values are laboratory results.
- Proof load ranges from 6,800N (M4) to 32,000N (M10); shear from 1,500N to 5,000N; torsional strength from 5Nm to 50Nm.
- Listed uses: fastening body panels and chassis parts in the automotive industry, fastening steel sheets in construction, load bearing fixings where the material is too thin for bolting, and places with no access for a normal nut.
Who it helps: Fabricators and marine, auto and sheet metal workers needing a stainless thread in thin material.
