Key things to remember
The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.
- Class 8, zinc plated (RoHS compliant), made to DIN 985. Part numbers start NN08ZFM.
- M24, M27 and M30 in 2.00mm and 1.50mm pitch (the 1.50mm parts end in F); M33 and M36 at 3.00mm. Other sizes from M8 to M22 are also available.
- A thin nylon ring inside the top of the nut adds friction, so the bolt does not loosen.
- That friction is called prevailing torque: the torque needed just to turn the nut. None of it goes into tightening the bolt.
- Rule of thumb: add the prevailing torque to the torque value when tightening a Nyloc nut.
Who it helps: Fitters tightening large locknuts to a torque figure.
