Key things to remember
The essentials from this guide, at a glance.
- Screw fixing is the preferred method, at 250mm centres in the body of the sheet and 150mm along the edges for 800mm wide flooring.
- Keep fasteners at least 10mm from square (butt) edges and 25mm from the tongue and groove edges.
- Glue and fix to every joist with a continuous 5mm adhesive bead, and stagger the sheet end joints over the joists.
- Leave a 10mm expansion gap at the walls, and add intermediate expansion joints on continuous floors over 6m.
- Rated for up to 5 months weather exposure during construction (7 months for Ultimate); sweep off ponded water and enclose the building as soon as practical.
- An 800 × 3600 sheet covers 2.88 m², so a 100 m² floor needs about 35 sheets.
