Key things to remember
The essentials from this guide, at a glance.
- Sheets come in 2400x1200mm (15, 18 and 24mm) and 3000x1200mm (15 and 18mm).
- Space joists at a maximum 450mm centres for 15mm sheets and a maximum 600mm centres for 18mm and 24mm sheets.
- Joists and trimmers must be at least 45mm wide to allow correct fixing.
- Fix at a maximum 450mm along joists, at least 12mm in from sheet edges and 50mm from corners.
- Sheet edges are butted with a 0.5mm to 1mm gap and joined using Megapoxy P1, Ardex RA 88 or Dunlop Builders Bond two-part epoxy.
- Provide a 5mm wide control joint through both sheeting and tiles at no more than 5m spacing.
