  • Oblique Cladding boards are 14mm thick shiplap, available in 200mm and 300mm widths and 3000mm or 4200mm lengths.
  • Vertical installation must use the Hardie Structural Batten, a castellated 70x35x2700mm H3 treated timber batten that provides drainage, ventilation and vermin protection.
  • For face fixing, maximum stud and batten spacing is 600mm through most wind classifications, tightening to 450mm or 400mm at N5/C3 and N6/C4.
  • Install with a minimum 150mm clearance to the earth and a minimum 50mm clearance to roofs, decks, paths, steps and driveways.
  • Use minimum class 3 fasteners, and class 4 fasteners within 1km of the coast or in corrosive environments.
  • Paint within 3 months of fixing, or within 7 days if within 1km of a coastal area or corrosive environment.
