The essentials from this guide, at a glance.
- Wet area construction must comply with the National Construction Code 2022 and AS 3740:2021 for waterproofing of domestic wet areas.
- Shower walls are waterproofed or water resistant to a minimum height of 1800mm above finished floor level.
- Walls in general wet areas are waterproofed to 150mm above the finished tile level of the floor.
- An unenclosed shower area extends in an arc 1500mm from the shower connection at the wall.
- Using Secura Flooring or Panel Compressed Sheet means full floor waterproofing is not required outside the enclosed shower area, unless a floor waste is specified.
- Internal tiled corners in non-shower areas use a 6mm gap filled with flexible wet area sealant, and plasterer's angle must not be used.
