Serrated Flat Head Framing Screw 6.2-25 x 16, Class 3: Performance Data

A one-page DRiLLX data sheet for the serrated flat head framing screw T9PF3EP6225016, used to fix steel wall frames and roof trusses through pre-punched holes. It gives the part details, mechanical properties, ultimate pullout strength and the recommended hole size for each steel thickness.

What this covers

  • Features
  • Applications
  • Mechanical properties
  • Ultimate pullout strength
  • Recommended hole size

For Tek Screws (Self-Drilling Metal Screws).

Key things to remember

The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.

  • Part T9PF3EP6225016: 6.2mm diameter, 16mm long, 25 TPI, Phillips #3 drive, packs of 1,000. SAE1022 steel, Class 3 finish to AS 3566.2.
  • For steel wall frames and roof trusses. Pre-punched holes are required: this is not a drilling screw.
  • Underhead serrations resist loosening, the trilobular thread reduces friction and resists vibration loosening, and the thread runs to the tip for easy starting.
  • Recommended hole size (plus or minus 0.5mm): 5.10mm in 0.55mm G450, 5.25mm in 0.75mm, 5.55mm in 1.1mm and 5.35mm in 1.5mm G450 steel.
  • Ultimate pullout, characteristic: 710N in 0.55mm G450 up to 3,897N in 1.5mm G450 (mean 774N to 4,449N). Characteristic shear 4,550N and tensile 7,583N. Laboratory values; safety factors should be considered for design.

Who it helps: Steel frame and truss builders, and staff checking the hole size for a frame screw.
