Key things to remember
The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.
- The extended drill point and 24 TPI thread drill metal up to 12mm thick with no pre-drilling; general purpose metal to metal fixing up to 12mm total thickness.
- C1022 hardened steel with corrosion performance to Class 4 as per AS 3566.2. Uses: metal to metal, thick purlins and hot rolled steel, plumbing, steel fabrication and HVAC.
- Sizes: 12-24 x 32, 38, 50, 65 and 85 (T9P54FH1224032 to T9P54FH1224085) and 14-24 x 38 (T9P54FH1424038).
- Characteristic tensile strength 15,030N (12 gauge) and 25,165N (14 gauge); characteristic shear 8,100N and 13,181N; torsional strength 11.3Nm and 16.9Nm.
- Ultimate pullout, characteristic (95% probability of being exceeded): in 6.0mm hot rolled steel 8,350N for 12 gauge and 10,428N for 14 gauge; in 3.0mm hot rolled steel 4,100N and 5,157N. These are ultimate laboratory values, not working loads.
- Install with a cordless screwdriver at 2,200 to 3,000RPM and a hex nut setter (5/16 for 12 gauge, 3/8 for 14 gauge), with firm pressure. Do not over-tighten, as sealing washer damage could result.
Who it helps: Fabricators and HVAC, plumbing and steel installers fixing into thick purlins or hot rolled steel.
