Key things to remember

The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.

  • Five lengths, 16mm to 50mm (T9PM3WP1016016 to T9PM3WP1016050): 10 gauge, 16 TPI, 9mm wafer head, Phillips #2 drive, packs of 1,000.
  • C1022 hardened steel, Class 3 finish. Listed uses: sheet metal to metal fixing, wall cladding, signage, fencing, and conduit and pipe saddles.
  • Working pullout load: 350N in 0.7mm G2 sheet, 650N in 1.1mm G2, 1,400N in 1.5mm G550, 1,950N in 2.0mm G450 and 2,500N in 2.5mm G450 steel. Working loads already include a factor of safety of 2.5 for steel; mean and characteristic loads are also listed. All values are laboratory results.
  • Characteristic shear strength 5,750N and characteristic tensile strength 9,550N (mean 7,100N and 11,800N); torsional strength 6.9Nm.
  • Drill point test: through 2.0mm G450 steel under an 18kg load at 2,200RPM in no more than 4 seconds (3 seconds average).
  • Install with a cordless screwdriver set between 2,200 and 3,000RPM, with consistently firm pressure while it drills. Do not over-tighten, and impact drivers are not recommended.

Who it helps: Builders and fabricators fixing sheet metal, cladding or saddles, and staff checking pullout figures.
