Key things to remember

The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.

  • Parts T55MSFH1214025, 035 and 045: 12-14 x 25, 35 and 45mm, 5/16 inch hex head.
  • Made from 550 stainless: a high-hardness martensitic stainless steel that drills well, with extra chromium for corrosion resistance the sheet rates as equivalent to 304.
  • For fastening exterior decorative steel sheets to steel channels and for stainless steel facades. The sheet says it replaces spot welding of stainless steel.
  • Working pull-out load from the steel it is fixed into, safety factor 2.5 already included: 150N in 0.5mm G2, 1,450N in 1.5mm G450, 2,250N in 2.9mm G450. Laboratory values; actual loads depend on the base material.
  • Use a 5/16 inch hex drive bit in a cordless screw gun at 2,200 to 3,000 RPM, with firm, steady pressure while it drills. Do not over-tighten. Impact drivers are not recommended.
