Key things to remember

The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.

  • For lightweight materials and plasterboard to steel framing and ceilings, in light gauge steel frame up to 3mm.
  • C1022 hardened steel, zinc plated (RoHS compliant). One size: 6-20 x 30, Phillips #2 drive, packs of 1,000.
  • Pull-out working load: 200N in 0.5mm G550 plate, 450N in 1.2mm G2 and 800N in 1.6mm G550. The working loads already include factors of safety and come from laboratory tests.
  • Drill point test: drills 1.5mm G450 plate in 3 seconds on average (4.5 seconds maximum) at 2,200 RPM under an 18kg load.
  • Install with a cordless screwdriver set at 2,200 to 3,000 RPM, with firm, steady pressure while it drills. Do not over-tighten, and impact drivers are not recommended.
