- 8 gauge, 18 TPI, 12mm long, hex washer head 10mm across with a 1/4 inch drive.
- C1022 hardened steel with the X9 ProteXion coating, which the sheet rates as suitable for ISO 9223 category 4 environments.
- Uses: metal to metal fixing, wall cladding, sheds, pergolas, roofing sheet, valley fixing and fixing mesh gutter guard.
- Working pullout load: 300N in G2 steel 0.7mm, 1,650N in G450 1.9mm and 2,200N in G450 2.5mm. The 2.5 factor of safety for steel is already included; the mean and characteristic loads beside them are test values. All values come from laboratory tests, and real pullout can differ with the base material.
- Drill point test: under a 18kg load at 2,200 RPM it drills 1.5mm G550 plate in no more than 2.5 seconds on average (3 seconds at most for any one screw).
- Drive with a cordless screw gun at 2,200 to 3,000 RPM using a hex drive bit, with firm, steady pressure, and do not over-tighten. Impact drivers are not recommended.
