Key things to remember

The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.

  • Approved and certified for lifting, for axial or angular loading. Grade C15E steel, zinc yellow passivate, marked CE and WLL, stamped with the axial working load.
  • Sizes M6 to M24 (ULEBC5YD5M06 to ULEBC5YD5M24). Example M12: 20.5mm thread, 53mm high, 30mm inside eye, 54mm outside eye.
  • Axial WLL per eye bolt (straight pull in line with the bolt): M6 75kg, M8 140kg, M10 230kg, M12 340kg, M16 700kg, M20 1,200kg, M24 1,800kg.
  • Load-bearing capacity per eye bolt at an angle β of more than 0 and up to 45°: M12 240kg, M16 500kg, M24 1,290kg.
  • Load-bearing capacity per eye bolt at β over 45° to 60°, or with the eye bolts fitted at the sides of the load at 0 to 45°: M12 170kg, M16 350kg, M24 900kg.
  • Minimum ultimate tensile loads (failure loads, not working loads), M12: 20.0kN axial and 10.0kN transverse at 90°.
  • Uses: a connection point for anchoring, rigging, pulling, lifting or hoisting, with rope, cables, shackles and hooks.

Who it helps: Riggers, fabricators and anyone choosing an eye bolt size for a lift.
