Key things to remember
The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.
- Part EVXMSF18D120060: carbon steel with a zinc flake silver finish, with a dual thread nut that takes M10 or M12 threaded rod.
- The sheet says the anchor has ETA approval for cracked and non-cracked concrete (Option 1), fire resistance, and seismic C1 and C2.
- Installation: 8mm hole, 60mm embedment, minimum concrete thickness 100mm, minimum edge distance and spacing 50mm, maximum install torque 25Nm.
- Design tension loads to AS 5216:2021 in 32MPa concrete at 60mm embedment, for a single anchor with no allowance for spacing (for engineers): cracked concrete 5.4kN at 50 to 100mm edge distance; seismic C2 2.9kN.
- Drill with a hammer drill, clean the hole, drive with an impact or torque wrench until the head sits flush (no more than 25Nm), then screw in the rod at least one rod diameter deep.
- For mechanical, electrical, pipe and ceiling hangers, fire sprinklers, cable tray and HVAC services.
Who it helps: Services installers and engineers hanging rod from concrete slabs.
