Key things to remember
The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.
- Carbon steel, zinc plated (RoHS compliant), with a combination Phillips and slot drive. Barbs on the flange stop the anchor spinning.
- Nine part numbers in M4, M5 and M6. Pick by wall thickness: the M4 range covers walls from 0 to 4mm up to 30 to 38mm, for example MWHDZPCM040641 for 4 to 9mm and MWHDZPCM041147 for 9 to 15mm.
- Clearance hole: 8mm for M4, 10mm for M5, 11mm for M6.
- To set: drill the hole, tap the anchor in until the barbs bite and the head is flush, then turn the screw clockwise until you feel firm resistance as the legs fold up behind the wall.
- For faster setting, back the screw out 2 to 3mm and squeeze the legs up with the ratchet style setting tool MATWHR (M4 to M6). Then remove the screw, put it through the fixture and tighten.
- Listed uses: electrical fittings, light fixtures, brackets and hooks. The data sheet gives no load figures.
Who it helps: Electricians, plumbers, painters and data installers fixing light items to plasterboard and other hollow walls.
