XCHEM PRO V401 Vinylester Chemical Anchor for Cracked Concrete: European Technical Assessment ETA 24/0507 (Option 1)

Hobson's cover and the European Technical Assessment ETA 24/0507 (28 May 2025, replacing the 2024 issue) for XCHEM PRO V401 vinylester injection mortar in concrete. It covers M8 to M24 threaded rods and 8mm to 25mm rebar used as bonded anchors in cracked and non-cracked concrete.

What this covers

  • Cartridges
  • Rod and rebar dimensions
  • Materials
  • Intended use
  • Installation data and curing times
  • Hole cleaning and injection
  • Characteristic resistances

For Chemical Anchors (Chemset-Style).

Key things to remember

The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.

  • Option 1: cracked and non-cracked concrete, strength classes C20/25 to C50/60, reinforced or unreinforced, under static or quasi-static loads. Assessed for 50 and 100 year working life.
  • Embedment range: M8 60 to 96mm up to M24 100 to 288mm; rebar 8mm 60 to 96mm up to 25mm 100 to 300mm.
  • Installation in dry or wet concrete, flooded holes (not seawater) and overhead. Hammer or compressed air drilling; hollow drill bits with vacuum dust extraction need no extra cleaning (dry and wet concrete, 50 year working life only).
  • Otherwise clean every hole: hand pump 4 blows, 4 brushes, 4 blows (holes up to 24mm across and 10 diameters deep), or compressed air at 6 bar or more, 2 blows, 2 brushes, 2 blows. Fill about two thirds full from the back.
  • Rods can be galvanised steel (4.6 to 12.9), stainless or high corrosion resistant steel. All suit dry internal use; for other conditions the ETA rates A2 at corrosion resistance class CRC II, A4 at CRC III and HCR at CRC V (marine).
  • Cure at 20 to 30 degrees C: 5 minutes working time (10 minutes for the tropical version), 30 minutes in dry and 60 minutes in wet concrete or flooded holes. Maximum tightening torque M8 10Nm up to M24 90Nm.
  • Temperature range -40 to +40 degrees C. No fire resistance performance assessed. Design is to EN 1992-4:2018 and TR 055 by an engineer; the resistances are characteristic values, not working loads.

Who it helps: Engineers and builders who need certified chemical anchoring of threaded rod or rebar in cracked concrete.
