XCHEM PRO P201 Polyester Chemical Anchor: European Technical Assessment ETA 24/0509 (Option 7)
Hobson's cover and the European Technical Assessment ETA 24/0509 (7 June 2024) for XCHEM PRO P201 polyester injection mortar. It covers bonded anchors made with M8 to M16 threaded rod in non-cracked concrete: rod materials, installation data, curing times and characteristic resistances.
What this covers
- Cartridges and mixers
- Rod dimensions and materials
- Intended use
- Installation data and curing times
- Hole cleaning and injection
- Characteristic resistances
- Fire
Key things to remember
The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.
- Option 7: non-cracked concrete only, strength classes C20/25 to C50/60, reinforced or unreinforced, under static or quasi-static loads. Sizes M8, M10, M12 and M16.
- Rods can be galvanised or hot dip galvanised carbon steel (class 5.8, 8.8 or 10.9), A4-70 stainless or high corrosion resistant steel.
- Embedment range: M8 60 to 160mm, M10 60 to 200mm, M12 70 to 240mm, M16 80 to 320mm. Drill bit 10, 12, 14 and 18mm.
- Can be installed in dry or wet concrete, in flooded holes (not seawater) and overhead, in hammer drilled holes.
- Clean every hole: with a hand pump, blow 4 times, brush 4 times, blow 4 times (holes up to 24mm across and 10 diameters deep); with compressed air at 6 bar or more, 2 blows, 2 brushes, 2 blows.
- Gel and cure times depend on concrete temperature: at 20 to 30 degrees C, 5 minutes working time and 30 minutes before loading; at 0 to 10 degrees C, 20 minutes and 90 minutes. The resin must be at 20 degrees C or warmer.
- Do not exceed the maximum tightening torque: M8 8Nm, M10 10Nm, M12 15Nm, M16 25Nm. No fire resistance performance was determined. The ETA's resistances are characteristic values for engineers, not working loads.
Who it helps: Engineers and builders using a polyester chemical anchor for threaded rod in non-cracked concrete.
