About Off White Cement 20kg
A light coloured cement for a brighter finish, with high early strength to the Type HE requirements of AS3972. Add an oxide for a coloured finish in concrete, mortar, render or grout.
Colour can vary with natural differences in the raw materials, so try a test panel first.

How to use
- Measure the cement, clean aggregate and sand in the right proportions into a non-porous barrow or tub. For the lightest finish, use the palest sand you can find. Big jobs need a concrete mixer.
- For colour, mix the oxide with the sand or aggregate for 15 seconds, then add the cement and mix for at least 20 seconds more before any water goes in.
- Work in clean water slowly until the mix is just workable. Excess water ruins good concrete.
- Place it promptly, as Off White mixes can lose workability faster than GP or GB mixes. Keep it moist for 7 days.
- For mass concrete pours, take care: Type HE cement can reach higher peak temperatures and generate more heat than GP or GB cement.
Storage & safety
Use within about 3 months from manufacture, sealed, dry and off the ground. Do not use a bag that has gone hard. Wear dust-proof goggles and PVC or rubber gloves. Each 20kg bag is a two-person lift. Storing and handling bagged cement.

Off White Cement questions
Off White or White Cement, with the palest sand you can find.
About 2% of the cement weight for a light shade, 4% for medium and 6% for dark, and never more than 10%. Make a test panel and let it dry for a week before you judge the colour.
As cement : sand : lime, the data sheet gives 1 : 3 : 0 to 0.25 for a high durability mortar, 1 : 4.5 : 0.5 for maximum bond, and 1 : 3 with no lime for wall render.
Admixtures to AS1478, fly ash, slag and amorphous silica to AS3582, and other AS3972 cements. Fly ash or slag can slow its early strength gain.
