What Is FJ Pine Primed LOSP?
FJ Pine Primed LOSP is finger-jointed radiata pine that has been H3 treated, dressed and factory primed for exterior, above-ground work. Short, clear lengths of pine are joined end to end with glued finger-joints into long, straight, stable lengths, then treated, dressed and primed ready to paint.
LOSP stands for Light Organic Solvent Preservative, a solvent-based H3 treatment that leaves the timber dry, straight and dimensionally stable, so unlike water-based treatments it does not swell, and it takes primer and paint cleanly. It is the go-to for painted exterior joinery: pergolas, verandahs, posts and beams, fascia, weatherboards, exterior trim and balustrades. It is the treated exterior counterpart to our untreated internal FJ Pine Primed mouldings.

FJ Pine Primed LOSP FAQs
FJ Pine Primed LOSP is finger-jointed radiata pine that has been H3 treated, dressed and factory primed for exterior, above-ground use. Finger-jointing bonds short clear lengths into long, straight, stable lengths, the LOSP treatment protects it outdoors, and the factory primer means only light prep before your topcoat. It is used for pergolas, verandahs, posts and beams, fascia, weatherboards, exterior trim and balustrades.
LOSP stands for Light Organic Solvent Preservative. It is a solvent-based H3 timber treatment that leaves the timber dry, straight and dimensionally stable, so unlike water-based treatments it does not swell or raise the grain, and it takes primer and paint cleanly. That makes it ideal for painted exterior joinery.
H3 is the treatment level for timber used outside, above the ground and exposed to the weather, such as pergolas, fascia, cladding and posts above ground. It is not rated for in-ground contact. For posts set into the ground use an H4 or H5 in-ground rated product, and we can point you to it.

The F7 beams, GL8 posts and GL8 and GL10 laminated beams are structural grades, so size and fix them to the relevant span tables or your engineer specification. The DAR, mouldings, fascia, weatherboards and lining are appearance products for trim and cladding.
