Why Polkky glulam

Polkky glulam is an appearance-grade timber, made to be seen. Slow-grown Nordic redwood is finger-jointed and glue-laminated into beams and posts with a clean, even redwood face, and it spans further than solid timber of the same size. It gives you cleaner lines, longer clear spans and far less waste on site.

Every section is treated with Celcure C4 for a life outdoors, beams to H3 above ground and posts to H4 in-ground, and comes dressed with clean, pencil-round (4PE) edges ready to build with. It is a low-carbon choice too, storing CO₂ for the life of the structure. Allmat supplies the Polkky glulam range across Adelaide and South Australia.

Glulam beam and post sizes

Glulam beams come in 45mm and 63mm widths from 90mm up to 290mm deep; glulam posts run square from 90×90 up to 240×240. Standard lengths are 2.4m, 3.0m, 3.6m, 4.8m, 6.0m, 7.2m, with longer lengths available on request. Use the finder above to pick a section and see its product code.

Where Polkky glulam is used

Because it looks as good as it performs and is treated for the weather, Polkky is a favourite anywhere the timber is on show: exposed beams and rafters, pergolas and verandahs, feature posts and open-plan openings, and, thanks to its clean redwood look, feature fencing, screens and gates. It is treated to handle the weather and hold its looks outdoors.
