Structural MGP10

MGP10 machine graded pine for wall frames, roof frames and outdoor structures, in untreated and H3 treated sizes, plus 90×90 H4 treated pine posts, across Adelaide and South Australia.

Structural Pine

MGP10 is our structural pine, the graded timber that frames up walls, roofs and floors. MGP stands for Machine Graded Pine: every length is machine tested for strength and stiffness, so it comes out as a consistent, dependable structural grade. It is also known as structural timber or framing timber.

We stock MGP10 untreated for internal framing and H3 treated for outdoor use above the ground, such as pergolas, carports and external framing. We also carry 90×90 H4 treated pine posts, rated for in-ground use. H2 treated framing and stiffer grades like MGP12 are available on request.

MGP10 FAQs

MGP10 is machine graded pine, a structural grade of radiata pine used for framing. Every length is machine tested for strength and stiffness, so it gives a consistent, reliable grade for wall frames, roof frames and general structural work. It is also known as structural timber or framing timber.

Untreated MGP10 is for internal framing that is kept dry and clear of termites. H3 treated is for timber used outside, above the ground and exposed to the weather, such as pergolas, carports and external framing. H4 treated is rated for in-ground contact, which is why our 90×90 pine posts are H4. Choose the treatment to suit where the timber is going and your local requirements.

Yes. H2 treated MGP10 for internal framing that needs termite protection, and stiffer grades such as MGP12 for members carrying more load, are available on request. Let us know what your job needs.

We carry MGP10 framing in 35mm and 45mm sections from 70mm through to 240mm wide, in untreated and H3 treated, plus 90×90 H4 treated pine posts in 2.4m, 3.0m, 3.6m, 4.8m and 6.0m. The full range is listed above, and we can order in what we do not hold.

MGP10 is a structural grade made for framing, but the size and spacing of each member depends on the job. Always work to the relevant span tables or your engineer or building designer specification, and we will supply the sizes and treatment you need.
