Joinery Pine

Standard and dressing grade 19mm pine boards and DAR sections, for joinery, furniture and building work across Adelaide and South Australia.

Joinery Pine & 19mm Pine Boards

Our joinery pine is dressed radiata pine, a clean, versatile softwood that works easily and finishes beautifully, a trade favourite for shelving, furniture, cabinetry, lining and general joinery. The boards are a full 19mm thick, from 42mm up to 290mm wide, in standard and dressing grades.

Alongside the boards we carry heavier dressing grade DAR sections, and with machining on site we can dress, rip and profile pine to suit your job.

Standard Grade Pine Boards (19mm)

Standard grade is the sound, economical everyday board. Pine FAQs

They are appearance grades, and it comes down to how clean the face is. Standard grade is the sound, everyday utility board: it runs as a mix, with some clean lengths and others carrying knots up to around half the board width and the odd bit of pith. That makes it a great-value choice for shelving, framing, boxing and general joinery where a flawless face is not essential. Dressing grade is the higher appearance grade, with only a few small defects on the show face and a clean finish, so it is the pick for furniture, boards, panelling and visible joinery.

Our pine boards are a full 19mm thick and run from 42mm up to 290mm wide, which covers everything from narrow trim to wide shelving. Because pine works easily and takes paint and stain well, the boards are a trade favourite for shelving, furniture, cabinetry, lining, box and general joinery, in standard or dressing grade to suit the job.

We carry 19mm dressed pine boards from 42 × 19mm through to 290 × 19mm in both standard and dressing grades, plus heavier dressing grade DAR sections such as 70 × 70, 90 × 90, 90 × 45 and 140 × 35. The full range is listed above, and we can machine to order.

Pine comes in random lengths, usually between 1.2m and 5.7m, with more of each pack falling around 4.8m than any other length. If you need particular lengths, let us know and we will work through what is available.

Our pine boards and DAR sections are dressed radiata pine, grown in well-managed New Zealand plantations, kiln dried and carefully graded. It has a straight, even grain and good stability, which makes it easy to machine and reliable for joinery.

This is dressed, untreated pine intended for interior joinery, furniture, shelving and lining. For outdoor or structural framing, treated pine is the right choice, and we are happy to point you to it.
