Key things to remember
The essentials from this guide, at a glance.
- Versilux Lining comes in 4.5mm, 6mm and 9mm thicknesses; 4.5mm is butt vee edge only and 9mm is not available in WA.
- Fix to timber with 30 x 2.8mm galvanised fibre cement nails, or to 0.5 to 1.6mm BMT steel with 25mm HardieDrive screws.
- Maximum stud and joist spacing is 450mm for 4.5mm sheets and 600mm for 6mm sheets.
- Keep fasteners a minimum 12mm from sheet edges and 50mm from corners, and start fixing from the sheet centre working outwards.
- Minimum stud width is 35mm, or 38mm where butt jointing is used; steel studs must be at least 64mm deep and 0.55mm BMT.
- Versilux is non-combustible and classified as a Group 1 material, suitable for fire and acoustically rated systems.
