The essentials from this guide, at a glance.
- Axon Cladding panels are 9mm thick and 1200mm wide, with vertical grooves at either 133mm or 400mm centres and a ship lap joint on the long edges.
- Maximum stud and batten spacing is 600mm for N1 to N3/C1 wind classifications, reducing to 450mm at N5/C3 and 300mm at N6/C4.
- Install with a minimum 150mm clearance to the earth and a minimum 50mm clearance to roofs, decks, paths, steps and driveways.
- Use minimum class 3 fasteners, and class 4 fasteners within 1km of the coast or in corrosive environments.
- Paint the wall within 3 months of fixing, or within 7 days if located within 1km of a coastal area or corrosive environment.
- Keep the frame square, with a maximum tolerance of 4mm in any 3000mm length, and leave a 75mm exposed slab edge where used for termite detection.
