Key things to remember

The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.

  • Six lengths, 25mm to 65mm (T9PWYFH1211025 to T9PWYFH1211065): 12 gauge, 11 TPI, 14.5mm flanged hex head, 5/16 inch hex drive.
  • C1022 hardened steel, zinc yellow passivate. Listed uses: cladding, concrete formwork, gates and fences, and signage.
  • Self drills through metal sheet up to 0.55mm thick into the timber below.
  • Working pullout load: 450N at 15mm and 1,150N at 30mm embedment in F7 pine; 1,500N at 15mm and 2,550N at 30mm in hardwood. Working loads include a factor of safety of 2.5 for timber; mean and characteristic values are also listed. All are laboratory values.
  • For the full pullout load, embed at least 30mm into the timber.
  • Characteristic shear strength 9,050N and characteristic tensile strength 15,100N (mean 9,850N and 16,400N); torsional strength 9.4Nm.
