Key things to remember
The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.
- Four kits to suit 8, 10, 12 and 14 gauge screws, with 3.2, 3.6, 4.0 and 4.8mm HSS drill bits.
- For decking and general timber work, in softwood and hardwood. It gives a chip-free countersunk pilot hole and helps stop the timber splitting.
- A free-spinning collar sets the depth against the timber face; the height is adjustable for different hole and countersink depths. Maximum drill depth 45mm.
- 1/4 inch drive. A hex key and a replacement drill bit come in the pack.
- Set the collar on a scrap piece of timber first, drill until the plastic sleeve sits fully on the timber, then drive the screw with a cordless driver at no more than 1,500 RPM. Impact drivers are not recommended.
Who it helps: Deck builders and carpenters fixing hardwood or softwood boards with countersunk screws.
