Tygabolt Sleeve Anchor, 316 Stainless: Performance Data

A two-page product data sheet for the Tygabolt nut-head sleeve anchor in 316 stainless, part MTB16PM. It lists every part, the installation guide, and design and working loads in tension and shear in 32MPa non-cracked concrete.

What this covers

  • Sizes and part numbers
  • Installation guide
  • Tension loads
  • Shear loads

For Sleeve Anchors (Dynabolt-Style).

Key things to remember

The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.

  • Fully assembled wedge-type sleeve anchor for solid concrete, 316 stainless. Tightening the nut draws the cone into the sleeve, which expands against the side of the hole. Uses listed: handrails, formwork supports, and mechanical, electrical and pipe brackets.
  • Eleven parts in four anchor sizes: 6.5mm (M5 thread) 35 and 55mm long, 8mm (M6) 40 to 80mm, 10mm (M8) 50 to 100mm, 12mm (M10) 60 to 100mm.
  • Installation: M5 thread in a 6.5mm hole, 25mm minimum depth, 5 N-m; M6, 8mm hole, 40mm, 8 N-m; M8, 10mm hole, 50mm, 25 N-m; M10, 12mm hole, 60mm, 40 N-m. Minimum concrete thickness 75mm for M5, 100mm for the rest.
  • Minimum spacing and edge distance: 50mm (M5 and M6), 60mm (M8), 75mm (M10).
  • Working load in tension, 32MPa non-cracked concrete, factor of safety 2.5 for steel and 3.0 for concrete already included: 2.0kN for the 6.5mm (M5) at 25mm embedment, 3.2kN for the 8mm (M6) at 40mm, 5.8kN for the 10mm (M8) at 60mm, 9.2kN for the 12mm (M10) at 70mm.
  • Working load in shear, same conditions: 1.1kN (M5, 40mm embedment, 50 to 70mm edge distance), 1.6kN (M6, 50mm, 50 to 80mm edge), 2.9kN (M8, 60mm, 60 to 100mm edge), 4.6kN (M10, 70mm, 75 to 120mm edge).
  • Design resistances (strength reduction 0.60 concrete, 0.80 steel) are also tabled, for engineers.

Who it helps: Builders fixing handrails, brackets and formwork supports to concrete where a stainless anchor is needed.
