Tygabolt Eye Sleeve Anchor, Zinc Yellow Passivate: Performance Data
A two-page product data sheet for the Tygabolt eye sleeve anchor in zinc yellow passivate, part MTEMSYM080045. It gives the size, installation guide and design and working loads for the eyelet and the anchor body in 32MPa non-cracked concrete.
What this covers
- Size and part number
- Installation guide
- Tension loads
- Shear loads
Key things to remember
The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.
- One size: 8mm diameter x 45mm (M6 thread) with a 10mm eyelet, carbon steel, pack of 100. For light duty loads in solid concrete.
- Applications listed: tie-down points, ceiling and partitioning, cables and tie wires.
- Installation: 8mm hole, minimum depth 45mm, 8 N-m torque, minimum concrete thickness 100mm, minimum spacing and edge distance 50mm.
- The eyelet fails before the anchor body, so the eyelet loads are the ones to design with. Eyelet working load: 0.8kN in tension at 40mm embedment, and 0.4kN in shear at 40mm embedment and 50 to 80mm edge distance, 32MPa non-cracked concrete, factor of safety 2.5 for steel and 3.0 for concrete already included.
- Higher anchor body loads are also tabled, as a guide only. The sheet says the lower eyelet loads should be used in design.
Who it helps: Ceiling, partition and cable installers who need the light duty limits of an eye anchor in concrete.
