Tygabolt Countersunk Sleeve Anchor, Zinc Yellow Passivate: Performance Data
A two-page product data sheet for the Tygabolt countersunk (CSK) sleeve anchor in zinc yellow passivate with a Phillips drive, part MTC88YM. It lists the sizes, the installation guide and design and working loads in tension and shear in 32MPa non-cracked concrete.
What this covers
- Sizes and part numbers
- Installation guide
- Tension loads
- Shear loads
Key things to remember
The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.
- Pre-assembled wedge-type sleeve anchor for solid concrete. Tightening the head draws the cone into the sleeve, which expands against the side of the hole.
- Five parts in two anchor sizes: 8mm (M6 thread) 60 and 85mm long, and 10mm (M8 thread) 75, 100 and 120mm long. Property class 8.8, #3 Phillips drive, countersunk head for a flush finish.
- Installation: 8mm anchor in an 8mm hole at least 40mm deep, 8 N-m torque; 10mm anchor in a 10mm hole at least 50mm deep, 25 N-m. Minimum concrete thickness 100mm for both.
- Minimum spacing and edge distance: 50mm for the 8mm anchor, 60mm for the 10mm anchor.
- Working load in tension, 32MPa non-cracked concrete, factor of safety 2.5 for steel and 3.0 for concrete already included: 3.2kN for the 8mm (M6) at 40 to 80mm embedment, 5.8kN for the 10mm (M8) at 60 to 100mm.
- Working load in shear, same conditions: 1.6kN for the 8mm (M6) at 50mm embedment and 50 to 80mm edge distance, 2.9kN for the 10mm (M8) at 60mm embedment and 60 to 100mm edge distance.
- Design resistances (strength reduction 0.60 concrete, 0.80 steel) are also tabled, for engineers.
Who it helps: Builders and fixers choosing a flush-finish anchor for handrails, formwork or service brackets in concrete.
