Key things to remember

The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.

  • Tamper proof security fixing: the hex nut shears off when the anchor is set, leaving a smooth dome head.
  • For hand rails, signage, seating and lighting in public areas, correction facilities, hospitals, parks, railway stations and stadiums.
  • Zinc plated carbon steel. Fit with a standard 15mm spanner or socket; impact drivers are not recommended.
  • 10mm anchor (M8 stud): 65, 85 and 105mm long, 10mm hole drilled 80mm deep, concrete at least 100mm thick, 50mm minimum edge distance and spacing.
  • 12mm anchor (M10 stud): 80, 110 and 130mm long, 12mm hole drilled 90mm deep, concrete at least 120mm thick, 60mm minimum edge distance and spacing.
  • For engineers: characteristic loads are 7.5kN pull-out and 9.5kN shear (10mm) and 10kN pull-out and 15kN shear (12mm), tested in non-cracked C20/25 concrete without edge or spacing effects. These are not working loads.
  • Packs of 50, or 25 for the 12 x 110 and 12 x 130mm sizes.

Who it helps: Installers fixing rails, signs and furniture in public places where the fixing must not be undone.
