Key things to remember
The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.
- Self-tapping anchor with an internal (female) thread for suspending services from concrete: pipe supports, cable trays, fire sprinklers, suspended lighting. An alternative to a drop-in anchor, without expansion.
- Two sizes: M10 (MXBMSRM100037), 37mm long, 15mm drill hole, pack of 100; M12 (MXBMSRM120042), 42mm long, 18mm drill hole, pack of 50. Carbon steel, R1000 protective coat.
- M10 in 32MPa concrete: minimum drill depth 42mm, embedment 37mm, spacing 111mm, edge distance 56mm, working load in tension 3kN.
- M12 in 32MPa concrete: minimum drill depth 47mm, embedment 42mm, spacing 126mm, edge distance 63mm, working load in tension 4kN.
- Working loads include a factor of safety of 2.5 for steel and 3.0 for concrete. No shear loads are given.
- Install with a cordless tool; hammer setting should not be used. The bolt or rod can be adjusted or removed later.
