Key things to remember
The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.
- 316 (A4) stainless concrete screws in three heads: MCSr-S hex head with washer, MCSr-SK countersunk and MCSr-P pan head, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm.
- European Technical Assessment Option 1 for cracked and non-cracked concrete (6 x 50 and larger). The 5mm and 6mm sizes are approved under ETAG 001-06 for multiple use in non-structural applications.
- Fire resistance up to F120 is part of the approval. Seismic category C1 is listed only at the deepest setting depth (hnom3), for 8, 10, 12 and 14mm.
- Three setting depths per screw. For a 10 x 100: 55mm, 75mm or 85mm in the concrete, drilling 65mm, 85mm or 95mm deep, leaving 45mm, 25mm or 15mm of fixture thickness.
- Sizes are named by drill diameter: 6mm, 8mm and 10mm. Clearance hole in the fixture and installation torque: 6mm 8mm and 10Nm, 8mm 12mm and 20Nm, 10mm 14mm and 40Nm. Drives T30, T40 and T50.
- The load table gives tension and shear loads in C20/25 concrete for each setting depth, with partial safety factors included, for single fixings away from edges and other anchors. Spacing, edge distance and member thickness are listed beside them.
- Can be adjusted or taken out; suits through fixing and outdoor applications such as railings, handrails, consoles, substructures and pipes.
Who it helps: Builders and engineers fixing stainless fittings to concrete, outdoors or where fire or seismic approval matters.
