Mungo MQL Universal Nylon Frame Plug: Installation and Load Data Sheet
Five-page technical data sheet for the Mungo MQL universal nylon frame plug, a PA6 nylon sleeve with a special screw for multiple use in concrete and masonry. It covers intended use, materials, installation, installation data, and characteristic, design and recommended resistances in concrete, clay and calcium silicate masonry and aerated concrete, under European approval ETA-11/0008.

Key things to remember
The essentials from this document in plain words. Check the full document before you rely on a figure.
- For non-structural multiple use in concrete and masonry, such as façade systems. Base materials: cracked or non-cracked concrete C12/15 and up, masonry walls and aerated concrete blocks.
- MQL 10: 10mm drill, lengths 80 to 300mm, 7mm screw, fixture up to 230mm thick. MQL 8 (not part of the ETA): 8mm drill, lengths 80 to 160mm, 6mm screw, fixture up to 90mm. Both need a hole at least 80mm deep, with a 70mm effective depth.
- Screws in zinc plated carbon steel (galvanised over 5μm, blue passivated) with countersunk, hex or hex collar heads, or A4/316 stainless steel with countersunk or hex collar heads.
- No hammer drilling in hollow brick or aerated concrete. Clean the hole (not needed in hollow brick), push the plug through the fixture until the collar sits on it, then tighten the screw.
- Concrete C16/20 and up: minimum edge distance 50mm, spacing 100mm, member thickness 100mm (70mm edge and 140mm spacing in C12/15).
- Recommended tension load, MQL 10 in cracked or non-cracked concrete, 70mm effective depth, no edge, spacing or splitting influence: 1.00kN in C16/20 and up, 0.60kN in C12/15. Valid for a group of 3 or more plugs in a cleaned hole, with the ETA material factor and a 1.4 load factor included.
- Fire: reaction to fire class A1, and assessed for F90 fire exposure when fixing façade systems. Shear with a lever arm is not allowed in hollow brick, and all data must be checked by an engineer experienced in anchorage work.
Who it helps: Window, door and façade installers fixing frames to concrete or masonry, and engineers checking frame plug loads.
