Why MexyTech

Here is something most people never see. A large share of composite decking is made in factories that will print whatever label a reseller asks for. That is OEM manufacturing, and it is not bad in itself, but it has a catch for the buyer: with an unbranded or white-label board, you often cannot tell who actually made it, how consistent it is batch to batch, or who honours the warranty if a problem shows up in five or ten years.

MexyTech is a named, established composite brand with its own identity, its own warranty, and a track record on real projects. The single most important thing about any composite board is whether it is capped, and MexyTech Suprotect is. During manufacture a hard polymer shell is bonded over the top and sides of the board (this is called co-extrusion). That shell shields the wood-plastic core from moisture and UV, so the board resists fading, staining, swelling and warping far better than an uncapped board. It is the construction that decides how a deck looks in ten years, and it is the baseline we would not go below.

Beyond the cap, a few things stood out to us in handling and installing the range. We are sharing these as our own experience with the product rather than as laboratory figures:

A well-controlled blend. In our experience the mix works cleanly, with less loose wood dust than we have seen from some boards, which points to a consistent blend, and consistency tends to mean stable, straight boards.

Board stability. We have found the boards hold their shape well, which matters for a straight, gap-consistent deck that stays that way.

Core design and heat. The board is engineered with a cored profile. In our understanding that reduces the amount of solid material heating up in the sun, which can help with how the board handles heat and movement. As with any decking, colour choice affects surface heat too, so we are happy to talk that through.

The clip system. The range uses a two-part hidden fastening system, and the installer feedback we have had on it has been positive, particularly the way the fastening ties into the board to keep the deck tight and stable.
