What Is FJ Pine Primed?
FJ Pine Primed is finger-jointed radiata pine, pre-primed and ready to paint. Short, clear lengths of pine are joined end to end with glued finger-joints into long, straight boards, then dressed and factory primed. Unlike solid boards such as meranti or standard pine, which come in random lengths, FJ Pine Primed comes in consistent set lengths.
Finger-jointing removes the knots and natural stresses, so it stays straighter and more stable than a single solid board, and the factory primer means only light prep before your topcoat. It is untreated, so it is for internal use: skirting, architraves, door jambs, lining and trim.

FJ Pine Primed is finger-jointed radiata pine that has been dressed and factory primed, ready to paint. Finger-jointing bonds short lengths into long, straight, stable lengths, and the factory primer means only light prep before your topcoat. It is untreated, so it is for internal skirting, architraves, door jambs, lining boards and trim.
FJ Pine Primed is untreated, so it is for internal use. Internal wet areas like bathrooms and laundries are fine, and it actually handles them better than MDF because it will not swell if it gets damp, as long as it is sealed and painted properly, cut ends included. What it is not for is outdoor, weather-exposed or constantly wet work: for that a treated or exterior-rated product is the right choice, and we can point you to it.
We supply Edgeline, EziTrim Plus and Pine Trim Plus, plus our own FJ Pine Primed range, and we can bring in bespoke Porta profiles. They are all the same product, FJ Pine Primed moulding, with only slight differences in size and profile. Our FJ Pine Primed explainer covers how they compare.
For skirting and architraves we refer to nominal widths, because the exact finished size varies between manufacturers. One brand’s "70mm" might finish at 66mm, another at 68mm. Our guide to timber sizes explains it.
It depends on the brand and stock, as a guide only: Edgeline is usually 1 to 2 days, Pine Trim Plus around 3 to 4 days, and EziTrim Plus around 4 to 5 days. Bespoke Porta profiles are usually around 1 to 1.5 weeks. We can also machine special profiles in-house. Send us your list and we will confirm availability when we quote.
Yes. We can machine special and bespoke profiles in-house, or bring in bespoke Porta profiles, including matching an existing profile. Bespoke work costs more than a mass-produced or imported standard profile, but you get exactly the profile you need.
