Allmat Timber & Building Supplies has been serving South Australia’s timber industry for over 35 years. Originally founded to wholesale Meranti timber to hardware stores, Allmat built its reputation during a time when Meranti was everywhere—used in jambs, skirtings, architraves, reveals, and frames in nearly every home being built.
The name “Allmat” came from the ambition to supply all materials—and while Meranti was the foundation, that broader supply mindset still defines how we operate today.
Still the Meranti Specialists
Even as MDF and other materials became more common, we stayed committed to Meranti. Today, we supply the most commonly used sizes and profiles, along with door components, sawn boards, and matching mouldings.
We offer in-house machining to dress, rip, or match profiles, making us a trusted Meranti partner for both hardware stores and trade customers across the state.
Supporting Hardware Stores, Big and Small
Allmat continues to supply independent hardware stores—including Mitre10, Home Hardware, and other trade-focused outlets—with daily and weekly deliveries.
Many stores no longer have the space or need to carry full packs of timber. That’s where we come in—with flexible, just-in-time supply of:
- Meranti, Pine, and structural timber in loose form
- Cut-to-size artificial grass for easy resale
- Panel products, battens, LVLs, decking, and more
- Fast turnaround and direct-to-store or site delivery
This model allows stores to offer a wide range without large stockholdings—while still giving their customers reliable access to trade-quality materials.

A Warehouse, Not a Yard
Unlike traditional timber yards, we’re not set up for walk-in browsing. Every order is picked and packed ahead of time for delivery or collection.
That said, if you visit us in person, we’re happy to serve you—just know we operate more like a trade warehouse than a retail showroom.

While Meranti remains at the core of our business, we’ve expanded into a broad range of materials, including:
- Structural MGP10 in multiple widths and treatments
- 19mm Pine Boards in standard, dressing, and clear grades
- Battens, LVLs, treated pine, and sheet goods
- Artificial Grass under our Perfection brand—cut to length from 2m and 4m rolls
